Swedish EV manufacturer Polestar has created special Arctic Circle versions of its entire lineup for the 2025 FAT Ice Race in Austria.

The modified Polestar 2, 3, and 4 models were developed with input from Joakim Rydholm, the company’s chief test engineer and former Swedish rally competitor.

Each Arctic Circle edition features raised suspension — 30mm for the Polestar 2, 40mm for the Polestar 3, and 20mm for the Polestar 4. The vehicles are equipped with Öhlins three-way adjustable dampers and white OZ Racing “Rally Legend” wheels with studded Pirelli ice tires.

Rally-specific additions include:

  • Front spotlights
  • Heavy-duty mudflaps
  • Recaro racing seats
  • Swedish Racing Gold tow hooks

The 496-hp dual-motor Polestar 2 Arctic Circle includes front and rear brace struts, plus ski mounts carrying Black Crows all-terrain skis.

“We created something truly special when we worked on the Polestar 2 Arctic Circle, and to now apply that formula to our two new SUVs has been a fun and challenging task,” Rydholm said.

The Polestar 3 Arctic Circle, based on the 510-hp Performance twin-motor variant, features a Dakar-inspired roof basket carrying a spare wheel, light bar, and snow ladders.

The 536-hp Polestar 4 Arctic Circle comes equipped with Black Crows skis and a drift handbrake.

Michael Lohscheller, Polestar’s CEO, emphasized the brand’s performance heritage: “The Arctic Circle collection illustrates our unique performance DNA, rooted in motorsport and combined with Scandinavian design.”

The vehicles will debut at the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See on February 1, 2025, alongside Audi’s one-off Q6 e-tron offroad.

While Polestar hasn’t confirmed production plans for the Arctic Circle editions, there’s precedent — the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 evolved from a 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed prototype to a limited-production model two years later.
