Renault 4 UK Price & Specification Revealed from £26,995 image

The all-electric Renault 4 will start at £26,995 when orders open in July this year.

Renault’s modern revival of its classic model will come in three trim levels: evolution (entry), techno (mid-tier), and iconic (range-topping).

The R4 EV offers a single battery option – a 52kWh unit paired with a 152bhp electric motor. This setup delivers 0-62mph acceleration in 8.2 seconds with a 247-mile range. Using a 100kW DC charger, the battery can go from 15% to 80% in just 30 minutes.

Like its sibling, the award-winning Renault 5, the R4 features retro-inspired design elements. The front grille is constructed as a single piece, while the three-part rear lights reimagine those from the original model.

Design elements highlighting the R4’s heritage include bonnet lines extending to the grille bottom, distinctive rear quarter windows, and three sculpted door lines. The overall aesthetic captures the original car’s adventurous character.

All R4 versions come equipped with cruise control, rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, emergency brake assist, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, driver attention alert, and collision avoidance system. The vehicle also emits pedestrian warning sounds.

The base evolution model includes keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, a 10-inch central infotainment display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 7-inch driver display, and two front USB-C ports.

Stepping up to techno trim adds wireless smartphone charging, multiple driving modes, rear USB-C ports, regenerative braking paddles, adaptive cruise control, hands-free parking, and a 10-inch driver display. The infotainment system runs on Google OS.

Techno models feature several upgrades over the evolution trim including a synthetic leather steering wheel, shark fin antenna, ambient lighting with 48 color options, fabric dashboard, and roof rails – a nod to the original R4. Both trims come with 18-inch black ‘Sixties’ diamond cut alloy wheels.

Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality comes standard, allowing the car to power household items from fridges to coffee machines. V2L can even power a house temporarily during outages.

The top-tier iconic trim includes 18-inch diamond cut ‘Parisienne’ alloys, hands-free boot, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, and a synthetic leather dashboard with yellow stitching and illuminated ‘Renault 4’ wording.

Tech features in the iconic trim include adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, road sign recognition, rear cross traffic alert, and rear occupant safe exit alert.

Renault offers VIP ordering access through its £150 R Pass, letting customers order their R4 from July 1, 2025 – two weeks before general public availability on July 15. Customers financing through Renault’s Mobilize Financial Services receive three years of free servicing.

Pricing for techno and iconic trims will be announced later. Renault has confirmed a ‘plein sud’ model featuring an electric opening canvas roof will join the lineup shortly after launch.
