The first Renault 5 EVs have landed in the UK, with more than 200 units arriving at Portbury Docks from Renault’s Douai EV factory in France. A Pop Yellow iconic model with a black roof marked the first Renault 5 to drive on British roads.
Renault is distributing these initial vehicles to dealerships nationwide to support customer test drives, with deliveries starting this spring.
The new Renault 5 has already secured major industry recognition:
- European Car of the Year 2025
- What Car? Car of the Year
- Top Gear Car of the Year
The EV comes in three versions — evolution, techno, and iconic. Two battery options are available:
- 40kWh battery: 118bhp, 80kW DC charging
- 52kWh battery: 150bhp, 100kW DC charging
Pricing starts at £22,995. Customers ordering before March 2025 can choose between two financing options:
A 5.5% APR PCP deal offers the evolution 40kWh model at £249 monthly for 48 months, including a £555 deposit contribution.
Alternatively, a 0% APR PCP is available across all models, with the 40kWh version at £182 monthly for 24 months with a 30% minimum deposit.
The performance-focused Alpine A290 — the Renault 5’s sister car — made its UK debut this week at the F1 75 Live event, where Alpine F1 driver Pierre Gasly demonstrated the vehicle.
