Rolls-Royce has unveiled its most powerful production car — the Black Badge Spectre delivers 650bhp from its electric powertrain.
The new model serves as a high-performance variant of the company’s first electric vehicle, pushing beyond the capabilities of the standard Spectre.
Its dual-motor system produces 73bhp more than the regular model and generates 793lb ft of torque — a 129lb ft increase. The enhanced powertrain enables 0-62mph acceleration in 4.1 seconds through a new ‘Spirited Mode’ launch control system.
A steering wheel-mounted infinity symbol button activates ‘Infinity Mode,’ unlocking the full 650bhp potential. This feature pays homage to the power boost function found in aircraft using Rolls-Royce Merlin engines.
Engineers developed the Black Badge Spectre using analysis from hundreds of thousands of miles of customer driving data. The research revealed owners typically use the increased performance in brief bursts rather than extended periods.
The chassis receives specific tuning with:
- Increased steering weight
- Reinforced dampers
- Enhanced body control
- Reduced squat during acceleration and braking
Select customers tested early production models in real-world conditions before final release.
The Black Badge line has helped reduce Rolls-Royce’s average customer age from over 60 to mid-40s.
Drawing inspiration from 1980s and 90s nightclub culture, the model introduces Vapour Violet paint and customizable illuminated features. The signature Pantheon grille now offers colored lighting options including Tailored Purple, Charles Blue, Chartreuse, Forge Yellow and Turchese.
Interior highlights include five available backlit dial colors — Vivid Grellow, Neon Nights, Cyan Fire, Ultraviolet and Synth Wave. The dashboard features technical fiber construction combining carbon fiber and metal threads beneath lacquer for dimensional effect.
The Spectre has exceeded Rolls-Royce’s sales projections, ranking as Europe’s most requested model in 2024 and achieving second-highest global sales for the brand.
