Alpine will debut its new A290 Rallye at the French Rallye National de l’Indre on November 8-9. The competition marks the official launch of the one-make Alpine A290 Rally Trophy.
Sixteen identical cars will compete in the inaugural event. The series represents Alpine’s first dedicated electric rally championship.
Championship Expansion Plans
The Alpine A290 Rally Trophy will feature six events from the French Rally Championship calendar in 2026. Alpine officials indicated the series could expand beyond France in future seasons.
Alpine promises comprehensive support for competitors. The package includes on-site parts supply, charging solutions, and technical assistance throughout each event.
EV Powered has contacted Alpine for additional details about the charging infrastructure and support services.
The company will also launch the Alpine A290 Regional Trophy alongside the main championship. This open series allows A290 Rallye owners to compete in local rallies and hillclimb events without entry restrictions.
Prize Structure and Incentives
Winners of the Rallye de l’Indre will receive full funding for their 2026 A290 Rally Trophy campaign. Alpine will also provide a factory drive in the French Rally Championship using an Alpine A110 Rally.
Each crew partners with an Alpine dealership to increase series visibility.
The 2025 A290 Rally Trophy offers €19,200 in prizes split between performance bonuses and parts vouchers. Prize money jumps to €236,000 for the 2026 season.
Regional Trophy competitors will compete for €46,000 in total prizes.
Technical Specifications

The Rallye version adds a ZF limited slip differential for improved traction and handling characteristics.
Competition-specific modifications include:
- Bespoke suspension setup
- Six-piston brake calipers
- Dedicated race ABS system
- Hydraulic handbrake for tight corners
Rally-specific equipment features 8×18-inch EVO Corse wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport A tires. Safety equipment includes an FIA-approved roll cage and Sabelt bucket seats.
An external sound generator alerts spectators and marshals to the car’s presence.
The Alpine A290 Rallye is now available for €59,990, excluding VAT.
