Škoda has unveiled the Elroq vRS at Milan Design Week, featuring 335bhp and a 340-mile range.
The performance-focused compact SUV will serve as the flagship of the Elroq family. It shares the twin-motor, all-wheel drive setup with the larger Enyaq vRS, enabling it to accelerate from 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds – faster than a Golf GTI. Engineers have stiffened the chassis to provide a sportier feel compared to the regular Elroq.
Built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, the vRS uses the same 84kWh battery pack as the Elroq 85.
The performance model’s additional power, 21-inch aero wheels, and lowered suspension (15mm front, 10mm rear) reduce its range to 340 miles – 20 less than the standard version. The battery can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 26 minutes using a 185kW ultra-fast charger.
Visual distinctions include signature black accents, a new roof rail, and Hyper Green detailing – a color Škoda reserves for its sportiest models.
The vRS joins manufacturers like Abarth by offering synthesized external sounds in either “Sport” or “Futuristic” modes, primarily as a safety feature to alert pedestrians.
Standard equipment includes a 12-speaker Canton sound system, augmented reality head-up display, and four fast-charging USB-C ports. The 5-inch driver display and 13-inch infotainment screen feature vRS-exclusive graphics.
Inside, the vRS adds a three-spoke sports steering wheel, carbon-effect trim, and microfibre upholstery with lime stitching. Optional Maxx packaging offers tri-zone climate control, electric seat adjustment, plus massage and memory functions. Buyers can also add DCC adaptive chassis with up to 15 adjustable parameters for shock absorber settings.
Despite its performance focus, the Elroq vRS maintains Škoda’s practical approach. Boot space measures 470 litres with the rear seats up, expanding to 1,580 litres when folded.
Pricing is expected to exceed the top-tier Elroq 85’s £41,600 starting point, with official figures to be announced later this month. First deliveries are scheduled for summer 2025.
