Toyota has revealed the bZ4X Touring, a longer, taller, off-road focused version of its bZ4X SUV.

The new model measures 140mm longer and 20mm higher than the recently-updated standard bZ4X. It shares the same E-TNGA platform with both the bZ4X SUV and the upcoming all-electric Subaru Trailseeker.

The AWD Touring uses a full-time, all-wheel drive system identical to the Trailseeker, with an electric motor on each axle. Together, these motors produce 376bhp – making it the most powerful Toyota EV ever produced.

Toyota will also offer a front-wheel drive version producing 221bhp.

Both variants use a 74.7kWh battery with 150kW fast-charging capability. Toyota claims the bZ4X Touring can achieve up to 348 miles of range, likely referring to the FWD model. For comparison, the AWD Subaru Trailseeker is reported to achieve over 260 miles on the USA’s EPA cycle.

While the Touring features the updated bZ4X’s sharp front end, much of its design mirrors the Trailseeker – including the rear lightbar, chunky rear bumper, roof rails, and blackened wheel arches for off-road capability.

The vehicle can tow up to 1,500 kilograms and offers 600 litres of cargo space – 148 litres more than the standard bZ4X.

Inside, the Touring keeps the standard car’s recently-updated interior with its revised center console and 14-inch infotainment display. A ‘City Moss’ upholstery option will be exclusive to the Touring, along with a ‘Brilliant Bronze’ exterior color.

The bZ4X Touring will arrive in Europe in spring 2026, with UK pricing and specifications coming later this year. It’s expected to command a premium over the standard bZ4X SUV, which starts at £42,995.

The Subaru Trailseeker – the bZ4X Touring’s sibling model – is scheduled to reach UK shores during summer 2026, further demonstrating the strengthening technical partnership between Toyota and Subaru.
