Skoda is rolling out updates to its best-selling Enyaq and Elroq EVs this summer. The changes include new infotainment technology and updated batteries for base models.
Both vehicles have become instant hits for the Czech manufacturer. The Elroq and Enyaq consistently rank among the most popular choices with buyers across the UK and mainland Europe.
The updates bring Google’s built-in operating system to both cars. They’ll also get a front luggage compartment – the first time any Skoda has offered this feature.
Google Built-In System Arrives
The most significant change is Skoda’s switch to Google’s built-in operating system. The new setup features a redesigned homescreen that drivers can customize extensively.
Google Maps integration comes standard. So does Google search functionality.
When drivers log in with their Google account, the system displays their favorite locations and preferences automatically. The built-in route planning function provides real-time traffic alerts and shows public charging station availability and status.
The Android-based system includes embedded YouTube and Spotify apps. Skoda has repositioned the climate controls to either side of the 13.5-inch central screen instead of placing them in a strip at the bottom.
Other Volkswagen Group vehicles are getting the same Google OS update. The facelifted Cupra Born and updated Cupra Tavascan both received the system. Like those two Cupras, the Skoda models now include a smartphone-based digital key.
LFP Batteries and Front Storage
Entry-level 60 spec models will use Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries instead of traditional lithium-ion cells. LFP technology extends battery lifespan and provides more consistent charging performance in cold weather.
The 58kWh battery capacity remains unchanged. Range figures stay the same despite the new chemistry.
Both updated models get a 21-liter frunk – marking the first time any Skoda built on Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform offers front loading space. The hood now uses gas struts for easier access, and the storage area is shaped to hold charging cables.
Vehicle-to-load functionality becomes standard across the range. One-pedal driving mode is now included, along with a 230V plug in the boot.
Skoda hasn’t announced pricing for the updated Enyaq and Elroq yet. The changes will be available starting this summer.
