Vauxhall unveiled a Corsa GSE concept that accelerates from 0-62mph in 2 seconds and hits nearly 200mph.
The Vauxhall Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo will make its public debut at the 2025 Munich Motor Show. Vauxhall revealed performance details ahead of the event.
The concept showcases the future of the GSE sub-brand. Two motors deliver a combined 789bhp and 590lb ft of torque. An all-wheel-drive setup puts that power down to achieve the 2-second 0-62mph sprint and 199mph top speed.
An 82kWh battery powers the 1,170kg concept through multiple high-performance runs.
The Corsa GSE Gran Turismo will also debut digitally in Gran Turismo 7. Players can experience virtual drives in the game.
Production Plans Remain Limited
That’s as close to driving it as the public will get. Unlike the Mokka GSE, the Corsa GSE Gran Turismo won’t reach production.
The concept suggests Vauxhall could develop a road-going Corsa GSE version. That model would serve as a twin to the recently revealed Peugeot E-208 GTI.
A production version would likely use proven underpinnings from the Mokka GSE, Abarth 600e and Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce. That setup combines a 276bhp front-mounted motor and 54kWh battery with a specially tuned chassis and mechanical limited-slip differential.
Steve Catlin, managing director of Vauxhall, commented on the concept’s significance.
“The Vauxhall Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo takes the GSE sub-brand to the next level. It not only shows what’s possible on a small car platform, it also displays a clear view to the future.”
“Taking the iconic Corsa nameplate and combining it with GSE high-performance engineering results in a breathtaking concept that will deliver OMG! GSE moments.”
Aggressive Styling Package
The Corsa GSE Gran Turismo features dramatic styling changes. Apart from Vauxhall’s ‘Vizor’ front design, little resembles the regular Corsa Electric.
Despite a similar footprint, the GSE uses a massively wide body kit. An aggressive front splitter, boxy flared wheel arches and prominent roof spoiler define the exterior.
The spoiler integrates with an active aero package designed to keep the GSE planted. The rear spoiler and diffuser extend at high speed for stability – the spoiler also rises to act as an air brake.
Massive front skirts and flared arches aid airflow. Heritage-inspired 21-inch three-spoke alloys reduce turbulence in the wheel wells.
The motorsport-influenced interior features a full roll cage and suspended lightweight driver’s seat with six-point harness.
A single head-up display provides driving data. Onboard sensors send information to the driver via illuminated fabric on doors and dashboard.
This “painting with light” technology first appeared on the 2023 Experimental Concept. The system could warn of vehicles in blind spots or obstructions ahead.
The Corsa GSE concept joins several EV reveals scheduled for this year’s Munich Motor Show.
