Volkswagen has added two passenger models to its electric Transporter lineup. The automaker expanded beyond the panel van that launched earlier this year with the introduction of Shuttle and Kombi BEV variants.
The moves give fleet operators and families their first all-electric options in these popular configurations.
Kombi BEV Brings Flexibility
The Transporter Kombi BEV starts at £53,404 and offers both standard and long wheelbase options. The setup delivers up to 896kg of payload capacity – making it practical for commercial use while maintaining passenger comfort.
Standard equipment includes five seats. Buyers can add a sixth seat in the front row’s center position.
Volkswagen rates the Kombi’s range at 196 miles using its 65kWh battery pack. That’s enough for most daily routes without charging stops.
Shuttle Targets People Moving
The Shuttle variant continues the model’s reputation with airport services and large families. It uses the same battery setup for a 194-mile range in official testing.
Eight seats come standard. Like the Kombi, it’s available with standard or long wheelbase configurations.
Pricing begins at £56,129 for the short-wheelbase Shuttle. Both models accept orders now.
Shared Electric Powertrain
Both variants use a rear-mounted motor producing 134 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. The setup prioritizes efficiency over performance – fitting the commercial focus.
Charging speeds reach 125kW at compatible stations. That allows an 18-80% charge in approximately 40 minutes during longer trips.
Equipment Levels
All models include LED lighting, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 13-inch infotainment screen. Wireless Android and Apple connectivity comes standard along with a reversing camera, cruise control, and lane assistance.
The entry Kombi Commerce Plus adds a heat pump, heated seats, single-zone air conditioning, and all-season tires.
Commerce Pro versions upgrade to 16-inch alloy wheels, tinted rear glass, wireless phone charging, and adaptive cruise control.
Shuttle Life models get 16-inch alloys instead of the diesel version’s steel wheels. The package includes all-season tires, a heat pump, seven USB ports in the cab, and six more in the rear seating area.
The top Shuttle Pro BEV features 17-inch wheels, powered mirrors, heated steering wheel and windscreen, three-zone climate control, and faux-leather upholstery.
The additions give Volkswagen’s electric commercial range broader appeal while maintaining the payload and charging capabilities fleet operators expect.
