Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles owners can now receive up to 30,000 free electric miles by switching to Ovo’s ‘Charge Anytime’ plan before May 31st, 2025.
Ovo, VW’s official charging partner, will provide 10,000 free electric miles to ID. Buzz, ID. Buzz Cargo, and e-Transporter owners who add the Charge Anytime option to their existing energy plan. Customers will receive an additional 10,000 miles annually for two years when they stay with the plan.
Volkswagen extended the same Charge Anytime offer last week to its passenger EV lineup – the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, and ID.7.
The Charge Anytime tariff allows Ovo customers to charge their EVs at home for as little as 7p/kWh regardless of time. Ovo claims this can save drivers up to £620 per year on charging costs.
With a smaller 59kWh battery and 200 mile range, the entry-level VW ID.Buzz cargo starts at just shy of £36,000.
While Volkswagen has publicized its expanding passenger EV lineup with the upcoming ID. 2 and ID. Every1, the company has been quieter about its commercial vehicle developments.
The company released a new entry-level ID. Buzz Cargo in March with a £36,000 starting price before VAT. This lower-priced variant features a 59kWh battery and 168bhp motor – smaller than the 282bhp or 335bhp options on premium models with larger batteries.
VW states this more affordable version maintains a 200-mile range and the same 165kW charging capability as higher-end models, allowing a 5-80% charge in 30 minutes.
After addressing early issues with its ID. models – primarily related to the touch-only infotainment system and user experience – Volkswagen has regained significant market share in the EV sector. The Volkswagen Group recently reported that sales of its all-electric lineup have doubled to approximately 19% in Europe. The company also noted increased sales in American markets.
